Upper School

6th-12th grade

Preparing students for success

FCA's Upper School focuses on creating a rigorous and enriching environment where students can excel academically and focus on college readiness. We pride ourselves on promoting excellence in all areas, including academics and Christian character. It is our goal to facilitate a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school, middle school to high school and beyond.

CLASS SIZE

Small class sizes allow for teachers to have more connections with individual students. Our maximum student to teacher ratio is 17:1 across all upper grades.

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

Advanced, Honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Enrollment courses are offered to promote post-secondary success!

Upper School students are given one-on-one guidance regarding college and career. High school students go on college tours, attend college fairs and meet with college admission counselors on the FCA campus.

TESTING

Above grade-level expectations are an essential part of our Philosophy of Education.

In middle school, students are given the Stanford 10 in the Fall and Spring to track academic growth.

High school students take the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10 and the PreACT which measure college readiness.

ELECTIVES

Electives such as Computers, Life Skills, Physical Education, Art,

Spanish and Speech promote a well-rounded education.

PROGRAMS

Students participate in programs such as Disney Dreamers and Doers, Duke TIP, and Tropicana Speech Contest which promotes service, academic rigor and public speaking!

EVENTS

Events such as our annual Science Expo, Scholastic Book Fairs and field trips extend student learning and showcase skills learned in the classroom!

Middle school students participate in the Disney Youth Education Series which allow students to explore math and science beyond the classroom setting.

Social events like Prom, Homecoming and Middle School Dances encourage socialization and bonding!

TRAVEL

High school students have the opportunity to participate in yearly trips that take them out of the state! Trips to Washington D.C., Tennessee and Georgia provide valuable educational experiences and are a fun way for students to bond!

CHRISTIAN LIFE

Daily devotions, a Christ-centered curriculum, Bible class, weekly chapels and monthly student-led chapels keep students centered around God's Word!

FCA partners with organizations like The Vine.co, a non-profit organization that ministers to the people of Nicaraugua and Haiti, to fufill The Great Commission.

Annual mission trips to Haiti provide a global perspective and fosters a desire to love others. FCA has donated over 1,000 shoeboxes to the children of Haiti since 2016!

For more information on The Vine.co and how you can be a part of the work being accomplished in Haiti, click here.

FCA also partners with Genesis Church to expand our reach! Yearly trips to Brazil, Jamaica and Atlanta, Georgia provides more opportunities for students to reach others for Christ. For more information about Genesis Church, click here.

Not only is it our desire to go out into all the nations to spread The Good News, but we are committed to reaching our local community! Partnerships with organizations such as Straight Street, an organization founded in 2009 and dedicated to feeding the homeless population of Downtown Orlando, give students and families the opportunity to serve locally! For more information about Straight Street, click here.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is also an active part of our campus life! Student athletes have the opportunity to demonstrate their athletic skills on the field and court while also demonstrating their committment to faith.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

FCA stresses the importance of community service. That is

why we incorporate community service events, such as

Second Harvest Food Bank, Straight Street, Shoeboxes for Haiti,

and Love on First Responders into our school calendar.

SOCIETIES

Societies such as Thespians, National Honor Society and Student Government Association develop leadership skills!

LUNCH

Students are encouraged to pack a healthy lunch from home but if families prefer, FCA offers lunch ordering from vendors like Dustin's BBQ, Chick-fil-A and Pizza Hut.
